Is a Hawk 250 DLX Model Coming Soon from RPS?

I was shown this by one of our members in the facebook hawk 250 page, it looks like RPS might be releasing a new Hawk 250 DLX model and it seems to have some nice upgrades, information below comes from TxPowerSports, I emailed Ricky Power Sports few days ago but I haven’t heard back, if they update me, I will update you guys.

I did get a reply from TxPowerSports and they don’t have any other info other than whats listed on their website for now.  I hope this is the new release from RPS that helps people register these bikes easier with the DMV.

Some Specs on the Hawk 250 DLX, not much lol but it might be the same as the original hawk 250 with some upgrades, hopefully we see some pictures soon and more details come out. The thing that caught my eye is the Fuel Injection upgrade =)

75 Mile Dual Sport Ride With Girlfriend around The Catskills

On June 19th 2018, the girlfriend and I went for a nice long ride around the Catskills NY historic towns, we did about 75 miles in about an hour and half of straight riding.

I couldn’t be more happier with my hawk 250 dual sport, the girlfriend and I must have done over 1000 miles of riding together. We haven’t had any real serious issues other than that one time when we got a flat due to one of the spokes cracking and puncturing the tire. I’m coming close to 5000 miles on my bike and no serious issues with the engine or any expensive parts. Only thing I have been replacing is silly stuff I have been breaking like bolts, mirrors, sprocket covers and other small stuff.

Hawk 250 Full 75 Mile Ride With Girl YouTube Video

My hawks battery is still dead and the kickstarter is acting up, so I didn’t shut the hawk off at all during the 75 mile ride and she did great.

I had some issues the day before and it was all due to a loose exhaust header connection, I got lazy with checking the bolts and I learned my lesson. Thanks again to MotoCheez for the quick suggestion.

The video below is only 4 mins, something happened with the rendering of the video. I will re-upload the full raw video for anyone that wants proof of what the hawk can do =), as you will see in the video I think I only stopped at 1 light and a handful of stop signs, it was nothing but riding and mostly in 4th gear doing 45 to 55 with my girl on the back.

What’s up hawkers. Sorry for the lack of updates on here. I have been super busy with other work. I post more frequently on the Facebook page I created for the hawk 250

Join us over at https://www.facebook.com/hawk250/ and say hi.

Anyone is free to share images or their experiences with their hawks on the page

Some recent images from my hawk 250. It got a new stator that went bad. They seem to go bad from 3-4K miles. So I would recommend having one ready to go. When the stator got killed during a ride, it also fried my brand new battery. So while I’m waiting for a new battery, I strapped a jump box car starter to the seat and I have been riding that way until I get the new battery

Another Awesome Custom Hawk 250 Paint Job From Green to Orange

Whats up, hawk 250 hardcore riders!. Last week I shared a post about another user who painted his hawk orange and it inspired another user to do the same. Well he sure didn’t waste no time getting it done =), Checkout his comments below and pictures of upgraded hawk 250, its looking so good. I love seeing all the different things people are doing with their hawks.

Erik H – Facebook Hawk 250 Group

“Painted the green plastics yesterday. Got halfway through putting them on today when USPS showed up with the exhaust.

It sounds awesome for a 250cc bike. I had a ktm 640 and it sounds identical. Nice bark to it.

I’d recommend that pipe for sure. Only issues with install were:

The flange coming off the head has to be notched for the stud spacing. Quick cut off wheel and were golden. ( You can see my hawk 250 exhaust guide on this, I just used a drill bit to make the whole bigger which is another option)

Also, it discolored within 60 seconds of idling. Looks good regardless.

Paint: 2 cans, Used 4 light coats of Rustoleum 7555 Safety Orange and 4 coats of gloss clear”

First Motorcycle Ride of 2019 with Girlfriend

It has been a long winter and this winter I didn’t really take the hawk out too much, last winter I did and she started rusting up. This time I kept it in the garage and couple days ago I finally got a new battery and was able to remove my jump box. My girl couldn’t sit on the bike because of the jump box, she wasn’t happy lol.

Hawk 250 RPS

We did about 65 miles of riding around the Catskills. Here is a short video she took from her iPhone, not sure why its so crappy. I think because I uploaded the video from the iphone. I really need to get a GoPro but its not in the budget.

We didn’t really stop at all, just maybe 2 times for some pictures, so it was 65 miles of straight riding, doing anywhere from 45-60mph on the dual sport. That is really good in my opinion for 2 people riding on the hawk 250. My bike is in the 6000 miles now and I haven’t had any serious issues with it. I consider the biggest issue so far was my stator but that was a simple replacement for the hawk. Some pictures from the first hawk 250 ride.

Hawk 250 Aftermarket Exhaust

I would recommend any hawk 250 owner to get this hawk 250 aftermarket exhaust for their bike. When it comes to the hawk 250 any extra power is a good thing and this exhaust sounds much meaner and you will notice a difference right away when you go for your first ride. It was a really quick swap from the stock exhaust to the new aftermarket hawk 250 exhaust. The only issue is that the flange bolt holes on the new exhaust are too small and not aligned the same as the stock hawk 250 exhaust. Using the correct drill bit will make your install much quicker and less painful.

Here are some pictures from my install of the hawk 250 aftermarket exhaust. If you purchase this exhaust for your hawk 250 enduro dirt bike, please post a comment below and let me know how its working for you.  I would also recommend swapping out your hawk 250 carburetor and replacing your jets with a 110 or 115 jet for your hawk 250, click here to read my post on the Mikuni hawk 250 carburetor. If you have over 1000 miles on your hawk 250, then you should also be checking your valves and making sure they are set correctly. You can find a video done by MotoCheez on how to check your valves, I have posted his guide on this website.

Hawk 250 Exhaust
You see below how I got the holes drilled out on the flange that connects to the hawk 250 header. It wasn’t pretty but it got the job done. I’m sure there are better ways to do it. I’m not a mechanic, I just make it happen the best way I can lol.

Just Ordered New Action Cam for Hawk 250

Just made a new purchase to try and get more hawk 250 videos and content when we riding around, my old setup broke and I found this great deal on amazon. You have to love amazon, I just ordered it 7:30AM May 21st and it will be here tomorrow =) and I live in the middle of the woods lol.

The action cam for $59 seemed like a great deal with everything included, a go pro just isn’t in my budget and I think this will work fine for my hawk 250. It already comes with a water proof cover which is cool and ordered some extra accessories to use

You can find the camera I got in the hawk 250 accessories shop

New Zazzle Shop for Hawk 250 Apparel and Accessories

Fellow Hawk 250 owners, I have created a account with Zazzle to offer some hawk 250 apparel and accessories related products. I will be buying some of the items listed on my hawk 250 zazzle shop and do a few giveaways on this website. I have also got the rights from the hawk 250 rps distributor to use the hawk 250 images in clothing, cases and more. I’m trying trying to find some good quality images of the bikes and come up with some kind of design.

I’m sorry about the prices for the products on Zazzle, they seem to be a bit pricey but from what I see it’s quality products. I’m only making $1 to $2 per item depending on what item you purchase from the shop. If any of these items become popular then I will look into getting them pre-made in bulk and hopefully I could get better prices for you guys.

You can click the image below to be taken to our Hawk 250 Zazzle shop. If you would like a custom design made using your bike, please contact us for more details.

June 24th 30 Mile Ride with Dual Sport and Girlfriend Video

Quick post hawk riders, I recently uploaded 3 YouTube videos on my channel from our bike ride on June 24th 2018, we did a bit over 30 miles and it was a great time, as always.

About 10-15 minutes into the ride, I heard some noise and found a trail entrance, when we went in we found bunch of ATV and dirt bikers ripping it up in the sand and gravel. The girlfriend didn’t want no part of the off-roading lol, so I will need to come back with with another buddy and get some better video of the quarry and trails.

My hawk 250 is maybe 400 to 500 miles before it hits 5000 miles (I’m guessing because I don’t know the exact mileage on my stock cluster, it was a bit over a thousand miles). I will be doing a hawk 250 5000 mile review real soon. I haven’t had any major issues yet.

Hawk 250 YouTube Videos, below you will find the 3 different uploads. Please share and like if you would like to help me build up my YouTube channel, I appreciate it.

This video shows the off-road/trail we found while riding the hawk 250.

This video is showcasing my new hawk 250 spoke skins I recently purchased. You can get yours from the hawk shop, click here see my video on installing the spoke protectors

This is the street riding part of the ride on June 24th, like always its very scenic views when riding around the Catskills. A lot of empty resorts from the 40s as you can see in the middle of the video.

Who Should Purchase Hawk 250 Bikes?

If you want an affordable street-legal dirt bike, you should purchase hawk 250 bikes. After years of using my Hawk250 duel sport motorcycle, I can say with confidence, you will love it. While the bike does have its flaws and you’ll probably need to replace the sprockets, it’s a bike that you can’t get too crazy on. I’ll admit, I was not the safest motorcycle driver when I had my Suzuki GSX. She was a beauty but allowed me to go at speeds I shouldn’t have. The Hawk’s top speeds are 65mph and I’m cool with that. That’s all I need for side road cruising and some fun in the dirt.

Benefits of Owning a Hawk Bike

There are a few different benefits I’d like to focus on today when it comes to purchasing Hawk 250 dirt bikes. They include:

Price – We live in some crazy times where job pay is not growing much but our bills are tripling. Different strains of Covid seem to be coming from all directions and our brains need a rest. One way to relieve some stress and anxiety is to hop on your bike and get some fresh air. Hawk 250 bikes are affordable and you can even select a monthly plan to pay it off. You can even get a Hawk 250 Enduro X-Pro from Amazon and pay with your Amazon Prime Store Card with zero interest.

Assembly – Another great benefit of owning the enduro bike is that it requires minimal assembly. Any Joe-Schmo can read the directions to attach a tire and handles.

Great Starter Bike– If you’re just learning to ride a motorcycle or want to, Hawk250 is a great started bike. Its top speed is around 55mph but once you change the sprockets you can get 65mph or more. I like that I can’t go faster, otherwise I might find the need to be reckless.

Street Legal- The first time I purchased a Hawk I did not do my research. The local DMV did not accept the bike as street legal and it was registered as an ATV. I purchased a second bike and drove 45 minutes away so I can register it as a street legal motorcycle. The drive was worth it but make sure that you do the same before going to any DMV.

The next time you ask yourself should I purchase Hawk250 motorcycle, the answer is yes. The bike is not perfect but it’s budget friendly, easy to ride and adjust to your needs.
