Hawk 250 Aftermarket Exhaust

I would recommend any hawk 250 owner to get this hawk 250 aftermarket exhaust for their bike. When it comes to the hawk 250 any extra power is a good thing and this exhaust sounds much meaner and you will notice a difference right away when you go for your first ride. It was a really quick swap from the stock exhaust to the new aftermarket hawk 250 exhaust. The only issue is that the flange bolt holes on the new exhaust are too small and not aligned the same as the stock hawk 250 exhaust. Using the correct drill bit will make your install much quicker and less painful.

Here are some pictures from my install of the hawk 250 aftermarket exhaust. You see below how I got the holes drilled out on the flange that connects to the hawk 250 header. It wasn’t pretty but it got the job done. I’m sure there are better ways to do it. I’m not a mechanic, I just make it happen the best way I can lol.

Morning Ride with 2 Hawk 250s and a Suzuki DRZ4000 Bikes

Great day riding today with Bek and MotoMania_420. Moto hooked us up and changed our cheap spark plugs. Started riding around 1030am.

Took a ride to a motorcycle dealer ship for some oil for the Suzuki DRZ400. We checked out some motorcycles way out of our budget. The Honda dealer ship was impressed with the hawk 250 RPS dirt bikes and was interested in importing them and parts, that would be nice.

Getting some of that super fuel. Motomania_420 flexing them muscles.

While Moto changes his oil on the Suzuki DRZ400, Bek and I getting some cheeseburgers.

Then we got some milkshakes from the Mobil gas station. The cookies and cream is the one I usually go for.

Went back to MotoMania_420 house and he saw the milkshakes and we had to come back and get him one.

After destroying the milkshakes, we hit up route 52 and pulled over by the overlook by SAMs point.

The hawk 250 and Suzuki DRZ400 make a nice couple.

Bek had to go home to do some laundry, so MotoMania_420 and I hit some rocky downhill trails and my damn battery died on the camera and I missed some good footage. I was able to get a picture instead of the hawk 250 RPS and Suzuki DRZ400 with a beautiful scenic background.

Installing Shinko 244 Tires on Hawk 250 Dual Sport

Just a quick post on installing Shinko 244 tires on hawk 250 dual sport bike. This was a fairly quick change out for my hawk 250. I did the front and rear tire in about 30 mins. This is my 2nd time changing a tube/tire on a motorcycle and I think 30 minutes isn’t so bad and it saved me probably $100 paying the dealership to do it for me. So the best investment I made was buying the bead-master pro irons and the rim protector. But after a while I got tired of the rim protector and didn’t use it lol.

Where to Buy Shinko 244 Tires – Click here to see the Shinkos tires added to my store. You will see the 244 sets and the 705. The 705 is more for people who prefer the street riding only. I recommend reading the guide on the hawk 250 tire sizing guide to make sure you get the right one.

I hope it gives you the courage to try and change your own tires. When I first got my hawk I got a flat tire and they charged me I think $50 to replace it with a new tube. Now I can save a lot of money doing these on my own. Plus when you are in the woods, there is no dealership to help you with changing your flat tubes =).

So its a really good idea to learn how to change your tires and tubes on the hawk 250 dual sport.

I got about 3400 miles out of the stock hawk 250 tires and that is 80% of street riding I did with the hawk 250.

I’m really liking how the Shinko 244 tires look on the hawk 250 but I still didn’t get a chance to fully test it on the street and off-roading. Once I do some more testing then I will do another post on here and update you guys.

Just Ordered New Action Cam for Hawk 250

Just made a new purchase to try and get more hawk 250 videos and content when we riding around, my old setup broke and I found this great deal on amazon. You have to love amazon, I just ordered it 7:30AM May 21st and it will be here tomorrow =) and I live in the middle of the woods lol.

The action cam for $59 seemed like a great deal with everything included, a go pro just isn’t in my budget and I think this will work fine for my hawk 250. It already comes with a water proof cover which is cool and ordered some extra accessories to use

Hawk 250 Review:

I got my bike from txpowersports it was a great experience. The bike did show up with some scratching in the case but I just touched it up with black auto paint. One problem I had out of the box was the chain constantly stretched. It was impossible to keep adjusted so I replaced it.
My review of the bike is you will never find a better value. As a all around bike it is very comparable to a Honda crf250L but it’s over 3000$ cheaper. As long as you have patients and like working on your bike a little you will love it.

You will find a video done by MotoCheez on how to tune the stock carburetor. This is a must do on your new hawk 250 rps dirt bike to make sure you are tuned for your location and making sure the jet sizes are working for you. The video below goes over how quickly you can get inside and tune your hawk 250 carburetor

Here are some pictures I took when I tuned the stock carburetor. I didn’t have a Dremel so I used a small hacksaw and was able to get the job done. For my second Hawk 250, I purchased the MIKUNI VM26 Carburetor Hawk 250 RPS and new jets, it was faster to setup since you didn’t have to cut out the screws and cap for the adjustment screw.

Doing Oil Change on Hawk 250 Dual Sport

Another short post on doing oil change on hawk 250 dual sport. I did this the same day I changed my tires to the new Shinko 244 set, click here to read that post on installing the shinko 244 tires.

Changing the oil on the hawk 250 is very quick and easy and cheap. I think a quart ranges from $3 to $6 depending on the one you get. I show which oil I get for my hawk 250 in the pictures below. You can also see the video I uploaded to YouTube on changing the hawk 250 oil and the quick process.
