Short post, I was busy working on my gazebo project for the last few weeks but I missed the hawk 250 and had to take it out, this is my off road hawk and it needs some work, I didn’t check the chain and it was loose and when I hit the log the chain came off, it was a quick fix and up the hill I went. Once I have time to clean up my yard, I will have some nice trail to ride around my house. Check the short youtube video below of my hawk 250 in action and please like and share the video. I’m trying to hit that 1000 subscribers on YouTube so they start paying me pennies again lol.

Hawk 250 – How to Install Buritto Storage Tube Video
Great find by MotoCheez for some Hawk 250 RPS Dual Sport storage options. This was a quick installation and it can fit a lot of tools or whatever you want to store in there for your ride on the hawk 250. It also makes it look like you have dual exhaust on your hawk 250 dirt bike with this buritto tube.
If you would like to see the current upgrades I have done on my Hawk 250 RPS Dual Sport bike, read my post “Hawk 250 RPS Performance Upgrades”
Hawk 250 RPS Dual Sport Air Box Mod Video
Another great tip and video done by MotoCheez. This will help your Hawk 250 RPS dual sport bike breath and run better. Please make sure to like and share the video if this has helped you. If you don’t have a Dremel to cut out the plastics, you can just use pliers and bend it back and forth, it will snap right off. If you have any questions please contact me and I will do my best to help you out.

My Hawk 250 Pumpkin Carving
My Hawk 250 Pumpkin Carving. This is my attempt at a dual sport pumpkin carving. My girl did the drawing and I did the cutting. Doesn’t really look like the hawk 250 but I’m happy with it.
Getting there slowly.
All done with my hawk 250 pumpkin carving.
My girl did her own pumpkin carving of a skull and a kitty kat.
June 14th 2018 30 Minute Ride
Just a quick post to share my hawk 250 ride back from June 14th, it was a beautiful day for a ride. The video below is about 30 mins of straight riding solo on my hawk 250 dual sport bike. It ran great and no issues, other then a few days later when I noticed my hawk sounding bad and it was due to a loose exhaust header connection bolts, so always MAKE sure to check your bolts and nuts. I’m so happy it was a simple fix and my hawk is on the road sounding and running great.

Hawk 250 – Upgrading to 115 Carb Jet and Oil change
Decided to finally swap out the 110 jet with a 115 jet on my hawk 250. It takes only a free minutes to swap out the jets on these carburetors from Hawk 250 shop. You don’t need to drill out the screws to make adjustments or replace the jets.
Then I did oil change on the hawk 250 and was getting ready to do a quick ride but after checking the bike I noticed a bolt that snapped off. I might have tightened it too much and from all the vibration it just snapped. I need to find a stronger replacement for that bolt and nut.
Below us a picture of my hawk 250 bike with the bolt head missing.
This is my buddies hawk 250 and how the bolt should look :). I have emailed therps.net and hopefully they have replacements but maybe I’m better of finding a stronger USA made bolt and nut to relace this China one.
Cruising With The Hawk 250 RPS Dirt Bikes
What a beautiful day in the Hudson Valley this Sunday morning. My buddy and I have been riding since 830am and just stopped by his house for a small break and then back on the road. We did over 70 miles so far today and still got more to go.
We went to the SAMs point state park trail and got kicked out right away lol. We just told the guy to take it easy, we just getting some pictures.
Some pictures of SAMs point below.
The Hawks are running great and great deal for the price. My buddy and I have new carb, sprockets, chain. We are able to get it to 60 65 without any issues.

Sunday Funday Crusing Over 200 Miles With Hawk 250 RPS
Today was a long fun day of riding in the Hudson Valley and Catskills NY. We finished up with 215 miles for the day. We started around 9pm and wrapped it up 7pm. The Hawks handed really well in the heat and I’m 250lbs and we cruised most of the time in the 50s to 60mph.
Here are some images from today’s ride.
We went with no food from 9am until we couldn’t take it anymore and stopped by McDonalds at 4pm and went crazy with the food
Caught me some Pokemon while I was waiting for my chosen as food.

Hawk 250 Mikuni Carburetor and Jets
If your hawk 250 isn’t running correctly, chances are the stock hawk 250 carburetor is not tuned correctly or using the wrong jets. I have worked on 4 different hawk 250 dual sport bikes so far and all of them had the same issue, not tuned or running the wrong jets. The hawk 250 manufactures have the adjustment screws and the screws to remove the carb cover sealed with plastic coating so you can’t take them out. My first hawk 250 bike I was able to remove the tamper proof screws they have but it does require some tools to be able to get the cover open. If you would like to mess with the stock hawk 250 carb, I have the images posted at the bottom of this blog post.
I purchased my hawk 250 mikuni carburetor and jets from amazon. If you would like to purchase this carb, you can click on the images below (links will open in new window) for the carb and jets. My affiliate link is setup with the links below and if you use my link to purchase the carb, I will get a small commission from amazon and it all goes back towards my hawk 250 and keeping this website going. If you need any help with replacing the carb, please email me and I will do my best to guide you with any issues you are having. I’m not a motorcycle or a auto mechanic but I know my way around the toolbox and how to get stuff done.

The jet size that I’m currently using is a 115 but I recommend getting the package below that has different carb jet sizes so you can quickly switch them out for testing them in your location.
I would also highly recommend swapping out the stock hawk 250 exhaust with the new hawk 250 aftermarket exhaust. Its fairly priced for what you get and the minute you swap out the hawk 250 stock exhaust with the new aftermarket one, you will notice a difference. You can read my post on the hawk 250 exhaust by clicking here.
Here are some pictures if you are looking to modify your stock hawk 250 carburetor, in my opinion the hawk 250 Mikuni carb is easier to work on and its not that expensive to get for your hawk. If you have any questions about the stock hawk 250 carb or the Mikuni one, please contact me and I will get back to you asap.
If you have a dremel then this will be much easier, we didn’t have a dremel and we didn’t want to waste anytime. So using a smallhex-saw will do the trick.
