It was a beautiful Sunday day in the Catskills. I decided to check on the hawk 250 to she if she will start up. Last time I turned it on was on Feb but didn’t really ride it, just changed the oil.
The hawk battery was dead but I was able to get it started with the kickstarter in about 2 and half minutes. Check the video on my hawk_250 instagram account.
I had to fill up the air in the tires and do a quick maintenance before the ride.I took a nice 20 mile ride around the Catskills and froze my ass off lol. It was about 40 but with the wind it felt like 20s and I only had a light jacket and jeans. But it was still fun riding the hawk 250 on the open roads.
The roads were full of sand from all the dumping the trucks did during the winter and I could feel the hawk wanting to slip and slide lol
That’s the only update for today. Checkout some pictures from today’s playtime with the hawk 250 dual sport.
Some rice and beans after the ride. Then I gave hawk 250 a quick rinse to get the salt and sand off.
The above image show my JBWeld on the gas tank valve. It started leaking last summer and I didn’t have a welder so this seems to be working. Not a deal breaker for me, I still love my hawk 250.
If you are not on the Hawk 250 Facebook Group, you should come over. There is a bunch of cool active hawk 250 owners and everyone is helpful and super nice. Checkout some hawk 250 rps club pictures below submitted on the hawk 250 facebook page. I also posted their comments under the images to just mentions a few things they upgraded on their hawk 250.
Robbie – “Did mikuni carb, muffler, sprockets, air box, led headlight, and led brake light, luggage box. Heavy duty rear tube”
Ryan B – “Not many mods. Just the Digital Cluster, LED headlight, rear storage tube, trickle charger, USB charger with voltage meter and painted the rear exhaust shield black. She is going to have a Harley friend soon”
Gary S – Very cool looking green mean machine
Brad H – I think has the best color, but I could be biased because both of my hawk 250 dual sports are black =)
Jacob W – Nice looking blue hawk 250 with its black hawk cousin.
Steven B – Very nice looking color on this hawk 250
Nathan M– Now this is one cool setup this guy has, it shows you the hawk 250 can handle anything, take it hunting or just for a cruise in the wild.
Tom M – Another slick looking green hawk 250 dual sport.
Justin C – Nice blue hawk 250 taking off. My next thing to learn, how to wheelie the hawk 250.
Daniel H – Now this is cool, father and son doing some riding. Will the dad get the son a hawk 250 when he gets a bit taller?
Brian L – “2017 Hawk. Air box mod and original carb modded with 110 jet. Have not touched idle mix screw yet. Stock exhaust for now. 16/43 sprockets now installed. Burrito tube added. H4 LED light and a usb charger kit installed. Cycra skid plate installed with home made brackets and longer bolts. A little custom paint work.”
This is a very nice looking hawk, I like the customer changes and the color upgrade makes such a huge difference, great job buddy
Jason A – Nice looking customized red hawk 250 dual sport.
Clay C – Another Red Hawk 250 Rps Bike, must be rough riding in the sand lol
Chris H – Some nice mods on this black hawk 250
Robert C – Sharing his green Enforcer
Andrew M – Seems the blue hawk 250 bikes like to be only on one wheel!
Ronald H – What a beautiful view with the blue hawk 250 and the clear sky. I wish we had trails like this in the Catskills.
TMP Saturday Graphics – “Took the Hawk name off the seat and handlebar pad, didn’t like the font. Plan to make my own tank graphics sometime down the road. Right now it has the Hawk 250 logo stickers from this page’s profile that was on the bike when I got it in Dallas.”
Nicholas C – Seems like the black hawk 250 is the favorite =)
Sam T – “Sealed battery, vm26 mikuni 120 jet, exhaust, 17-50 geaing, digital gauges, rear tail light swaped to smaller one with fender delete, fuel filter installed.cbr500 clutch and brake levers and front spoke covers and soon to have 50cal ammo ca saddle bags and harbor freight box mounted.
Now this guy knows how to have fun with the hawk 250, this should show you it can take abuse. My and my buddy also got our self in a deep muddy situation and the hawk did well and survived.
Octavio M– Stock blue hawk but he loves it!
Derek S – “New carb, New spark plug, New unbreakable levers and new master cylinder, Spoke skins , Air box mod, Enduro guards, Radio, Lithium ion battery, Replaced all bibles with LED including headlight”
This guy also knows how to have fun with the hawk, he is always sending me pictures of the green hawk in the wild and having a fun time.

The new digital hawk 250 aftermarket cluster is working great and looks so much cooler. If you don’t have one then I recommend getting one.

This is my first time changing a tube on my Hawk 250. This really the first time I ever changed a tire =). I was very proud at the end of the day, it was a learning process but the next one will be much quicker.
I got my Shinko 244 tires in the mail today and I will be changing those sometime next week. Here is a picture of them next to my current tires.

I ordered a new exhaust from eBay on the 19th and I just got it delivered this morning by DHL, that was super fast shipping from China. If you are interested in seeing all of the upgrades I did for my Hawk 250 RPS including the exhaust,.
You will need the make the holes bigger on the bracket. The bolts on the hawk are too far apart to fit thru the holes on he bracket. I recommend using at least a 1/2in or bigger drill bit that is for stainless steel/hard steel. I used a 3/8 drill bit and it was a pain.
Here are some pictures of the finished product. I will be posting a new article with more images of the install.

The following hawk 250 review was submitted from a hawk 250 user I met on Instagram. Please follow him on Instagram @rob_hk250.
I saved up over eight months to buy a bike to ride around and have fun on. I found the hawk 250 through the help of my friend, we searched for two months online for the bike. He showed me the hawk 250 and asked if it was ok or fit my taste. I told him yes and I searched for videos of the hawk along with reviews. It came time to order my the bike.
Power sports max was really helpful with the bike and the shipping to NJ was fast. After the hawk 250 bike arrived my step father and I put it together to discover it did not want to start. How ever that was an easy fix with a new ignition coil and the battery being jumped the bike started with no problem. This bike is really easy to handle and can be really fun if you know what you are doing. If you like to work on your own bikes I would recommend this bike to you. If I had to rate this bike on a scale from 1\10 I would give it a 9.5.

Whats up fellow hawk 250 owners. Recently I have been seeing new hawk 250 bikes come with a sticker using my Hawk 250 logo that I had created for this website. I didn’t give anyone permission to use my logo for those stickers. I contacted Ricky Power Sports and they said they are not using my logo. I’m wondering if its another dealership. Its not cool that they didn’t even at least contact me to work something out. I have spent a lot of time on the logo design and building this website to spread the word about the hawk 250.
The logo below doesn’t below to Hawk 250 RPS, this is a logo I had my designer build for this website and if anyone wants to use my logo, they should contact me to work something out. Thank you.
Here are some links to the hawk 250 upgrades I did on my bike.
Whats up guys, its not throwback Thursday but I was watching some of my videos and I found this funny video. This was maybe a month in of my having my hawk 250 bike. My blue hawk 250 cousin and I were just messing around, trying to do some burnouts and taking off quick. Well I took off to the sky when the clutch slipped and I panicked lol.
Give me a break, it was only a few weeks in and I was a noob lol. If you can see my cousins face while I’m going down, its priceless.

The Hawk 250 Needed Some Repairs
There wasn’t major damage other then my back taillight breaking off and some scratches. My chain did get locked up in the rear sprocket and I couldn’t get it out and I didn’t have any tools on me ( That was the last time I took the hawk 250 out without my tool bag lol ) So I had to leave my cousin there to watch my hawk while I jumped on this blue hawk 250 to go home and get some wrenches.
At this point the bikes weren’t registered, we had no insurance and he was just sitting on the side of the road. Good thing these back roads were learned how to ride the hawks on has barely any cars driving by
I finally got back to him, got my chain loose and we went home to check the damages. With some power tools and 30 minutes later, the hawk 250 was back on the road looking meaner than she ever did haha
I have some pictures showing the damage somewhere on my computer, when I find it I will update this page.
Thanks for reading and I hope you are having fun with your hawk as much as I am..
Thank you so much MotoCheez YouTube Channel for this hack for the Hawk 250 RPS dirt bike. That noise when you used your turn signals was painful to listen too. Now the issue I have is forgetting to turn them off because I don’t hear the beeping anymore haha. Another great video done by MotoCheez, please like and share the video if you did this to your hawk 250.
